Following on from World Lion Day (10 August) Andreas Weber's sound installation, ‘Choir of extinct animals’ will be set up in the park of the Lion Monument. Over four days it will amply fill the area with the voices of birds and insects that are now extinct. For the opening on 15 August, an evening event will be held in collaboration with the WWF and Lucerne Glacier Garden. It will draw attention to the danger of extinction facing lions, and the same danger facing threatened native species.
