2022

At the beginning of March 2022, the Lion Monument 21 multi-annual project came to a close with the book “Lion Monument 21 – The Lion Monument of Lucerne Through the Lens of Contemporary Art”. The book documents and elaborates on the multifaceted L21 project in its entirety.

It comprises texts by Peter Fischer and Karin Mairitsch, who played a major role in shaping “Lion Monument 21” as project directors, essays by Jana Avanzini, Martin R. Dean, Sabine Gebhardt Fink, Silvia Henke, Peter Omachen, and Heinz Stahlhut, as well as interviews conducted by Bettina Staub with participating artists. Two extensive sections with photographs of the numerous exhibitions and performances invite the reader to browse, remember, and think further.

The innovative design by équipe [visuelle], Emmenbrücke, renders the book a visual treasure in red-white-blue and thus yet another art project in the long “L21” series.
